Contraindications to Methylene Blue Oral Therapy

Do not use Methylene Blue if you are pregnant or nursing

Do not use Methylene Blue if you are on antidepressant agents such as SSRI, SNRI, Lithium, or MAO inhibitors (the combination of these with MB can increase serotonin levels to a dangerous level)

Do not use Methylene Blue if you are taking hydrocodone (this can increase serotonin levels to a dangerous level)

Do not use Methylene Blue if you have a G6PD (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase) deficiency
