FUE Hair Restoration
FUE hair restoration offers natural-looking results, minimal scarring, quick recovery, and precise follicle placement for effective hair regrowth.
What Is FUE Hair Restoration?
FUE, or Follicular Unit Extraction, is a cutting-edge hair restoration technique designed to address hair loss and promote natural-looking hair regrowth. Unlike traditional methods, FUE does not involve the removal of a strip of scalp; instead, individual hair follicles are extracted one by one from the donor area (typically the back or sides of the head) and meticulously transplanted to areas with thinning or no hair. This minimally invasive approach ensures less scarring and a quicker recovery compared to traditional methods.
Local anesthesia is administered to numb both the donor and recipient areas. This ensures the patient remains comfortable throughout the procedure. The technician uses a small, punch-like instrument to extract individual hair follicles from the donor area. These follicles are usually extracted one at a time to maintain the natural appearance of the donor site.
As each follicle is extracted, tiny, circular wounds are left in the donor area. These wounds heal naturally and result in minimal scarring, often resembling tiny dots that are easily concealed by surrounding hair. The extracted hair follicles are carefully examined and prepared for transplantation. This involves separating individual follicular units and ensuring their viability for implantation.Tiny incisions or punctures are made in the recipient area (the balding or thinning area) where the hair will be transplanted. The technician strategically plans the placement to achieve a natural and aesthetically pleasing result.
The prepared hair follicles are meticulously placed into the recipient sites. The technician pays attention to the angle, direction, and density of the hair to create a seamless and natural-looking hairline.

AURAGRAFT™: Our Best Solution
Auragraft™ utilizes an automated system to perform the FUE procedure. The automated extraction tool helps to speed up the harvesting of hair follicles compared to manual methods. It uses pneumatic pressure to extract individual follicles, reducing the risk of damage and promoting a quicker recovery.
What are some benefits of Auragraft™ over manual FUE techniques?
• The highly ergonomic mechanical Auragraft™ device works as a natural extension of the surgeons’ hand, allowing for faster and more accurate harvesting of hair follicles. Auragraft™ patients now reach their goal with less time in the procedure room or fewer FUE procedures altogether.
Are the final transplanted ‘results’ any different with FUE/Auragraft™ than those achieved with linear harvesting?
• Results are similar. FUE procedures, by default, yield grafts that contain mainly one, two, three, or four follicles called “follicular units.” Strips or linear harvests, are removed from the back of the scalp and are then microscopically dissected by a team into grafts of one, two or three follicles, would also yield similar ‘follicular-unit’ grafts. Provided that in each case the grafts are implanted with care, artistry and precision into the recipient area, the final transplanted results with FUE would be similar, if not identical, to those accomplished with a linear harvest. The difference is not in the area of hair growth, but how the donor area is harvested either by a strip of scalp or by small individual graft extractions. Using the FUE Technique, leaves no linear scar.
Is FUE/Auragraft™ suitable for both men and women?
- Yes. Because FUE/Auragraft™ is a minimally-invasive procedure, it is a viable option for both men and women looking to restore their own living and growing hair with transplantation
Do I have to get a total ‘buzz cut’ to have an FUE/NeoGraft procedure?
- No, if your hair is long enough, harvesting using the FUE/Auragraft™ can be done by shaving small areas which can be covered by your other, existing hair.
Benefits of FUE Hair Restoration
- Natural-Looking Results: FUE Hair Restoration delivers incredibly natural-looking results, as individual follicles are meticulously transplanted to mimic the natural growth pattern of hair.
- Minimally Invasive Procedure: FUE is a minimally invasive procedure that avoids the traditional strip method, reducing scarring and promoting a faster recovery with less discomfort. The patient can return to work in a couple of days and once healing is complete, the patient has the option of wearing a very short haircut without the worry of a tell-tale linear scar.
- No Linear Scar: Unlike other hair restoration techniques, FUE leaves no linear scar, enabling individuals to wear shorter hairstyles without visible signs of the procedure. It is well-accepted that FUE transplants can heal faster and more comfortably than linear-harvest techniques which the physician uses a scalpel and removes a strip of scalp requiring stitches.
- Versatile Treatment Areas: FUE is versatile and can be applied to various areas affected by hair loss, including the scalp, hairline, temples, crown, eyebrows, and beard, offering comprehensive solutions..
- No Sutures or Staples: FUE does not involve the use of sutures or staples, contributing to a more comfortable postoperative experience for the patient.
- Less Discomfort and permanent results: Patients undergoing FUE Hair Restoration typically experience less discomfort during and after the procedure compared to traditional methods, enhancing overall patient satisfaction and enjoy a lifetime solution to hair loss.
- Suitable for Various Hair Types: FUE is suitable for various hair types and textures, making it an inclusive solution for individuals with diverse hair characteristics

How does the FUE Hair Restoration work?
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) Hair Restoration involves extracting individual hair follicles from a donor area (usually the back or sides of the head) and transplanting them to areas with thinning or no hair. This precise procedure allows for a natural-looking and permanent solution to hair loss.
Does the FUE Hair Restoration procedure hurt?
The FUE procedure is generally well-tolerated by patients. Local anesthesia is administered to ensure comfort during the extraction and transplantation processes. Most individuals report minimal discomfort and, in many cases, can manage any post-procedural discomfort with mild pain relievers.
How long do the effects of the FUE Hair Restoration last?
The effects of FUE Hair Restoration are considered permanent. The transplanted hair follicles are resistant to the hormone DHT (dihydrotestosterone), which is responsible for hair loss. Once the transplanted hair establishes, it should continue to grow naturally for a lifetime.
How long does the FUE Hair Restoration take?
The duration of an FUE procedure depends on the number of follicles being transplanted. On average, it can take several hours.
What can I expect after the procedure?
- Patients may experience some initial redness, swelling, and tiny scabs in both the donor and recipient areas. These side effects are normal and typically subside within a week.
- Patients are advised to follow post-procedure care instructions, including gentle washing and avoiding strenuous activities for a few days.
- New hair growth usually begins within a few months, and noticeable improvements continue over the next 6 to 12 months. It’s essential to follow the post-procedure guidelines provided by your healthcare professional to optimize healing and results.
- Patients are encouraged to schedule follow-up appointments to monitor progress and address any concerns during the recovery period.
